The Devon Recycle Depot is located at 20 Haven Avenue (Behind IGA and Community Centre).

Recycle Depot Hours

  • Mondays, Fridays & Saturdays - 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Wednesdays - 4 - 7 p.m.
  • Closed on all statutory holidays

The recycle depot averages 11,000 visitors each year. In general, recyclable items can be dropped off at no charge, however there is a charge for drop off of garbage.

  • Cardboard is thicker than boxboard and is corrugated.
  • Boxboard is the material that cereal and shoes come in.

  • Mixed plastic consists of plastic containers that contain a wide variety of products (shampoo, detergent, aspirin etc.).
  • Currently hard plastic containers (#1 & #2) are the only type that the Depot can accept.
  • Containers should be rinsed out and have all caps removed (unless clearly marked they cannot be recycled).

  • The Recycling Depot accepts all milk containers for recycling.
  • There is a separate bin for plastic milk jugs.
  • Wax paper milk cartons go in the boxboard bin.
  • All containers should be rinsed out and crushed before going into the bins.
  • Milk containers are also accepted at the bottle depot for a refund of their deposit.

  • The recycle depot currently accepts passenger, light truck and heavy truck tires (no large equipment tires).
  • Tires with rims on are acceptable.

  • E-waste refers to the recycling of electronics. At the time of purchase these products now have a recycling fee charged.
  • Currently the Recycling Depot will accept TV’s, computers, monitors, laptops, tablets and printers at no charge.

  • Tree parts, shrubs and branches are accepted at the Town Yard, located at 10 Exploration Drive in the Industrial Park.
  • Disposal is year-round and free of charge.
  • Diseased trees with Black Knot or Dutch Elm disease are accepted.
  • Use the drop-off area on the south side of the Town Yard after business hours.
