Bulk Water/Sani Dump Station Rehabilitation

Construction has commenced on the rehabilitation of the roadway within the bulk water-fill and sanitary dump station. The scope of the work will include the removal and replacement of the existing concrete pads and rehabilitation and paving of the existing gravel surface.

There will be required closures but they will be kept to a minimum, with notification signage onsite to notify users of closures. Please obey all signs and use caution when passing through the construction zone.

Timeline

The work is expected to be approximately 4 weeks in duration depending on weather, with an expected completion date of Aug. 6. During the construction period expect delays, especially during the day when people and equipment are working.

HWY 39 & HWY 60 Roundabout Construction

The following information has been provided to the Town of Devon from the Government of Alberta, for the Highway 39 and Highway 60 Roundabout:

• Contract awarded to Wells Construction, Division of Lafarge Canada Inc.
• The project is in the early phases of construction, with surveying, utility adjustments, etc. taking place.
• Over the coming days/weeks and as the weather improves, the Contractor will be mobilizing equipment to the site and beginning their work.
• This project includes installation of temporary traffic signals and construction of temporary detour roadways, encompassing Hwy 39, Hwy 60 and RR 263 as seen in image 1.
  • The detour and traffic signals will allow vehicles to flow safely through the intersection and construction zone with minimal delay, while construction of the roundabout is occurring.
  • The detour and traffic signals will be removed when the roundabout becomes operational.

Timeline

Completion of this project is anticipated to be October 2019, weather permitting.
